Request leave from Slack
Dieser Inhalt ist noch nicht in deiner Sprache verfügbar.
See how many days you have left, submit a leave request, see who in your team is out, and — if you approve requests — decide the ones waiting on you, without leaving Slack. The request is the same as one made in Pauzora: same approver, same balance, same history.
Before you start
- Your organization must have connected the Pauzora app to your Slack workspace. If you cannot find Pauzora among your Slack apps, ask your HR admin — see Connect Slack.
- The email address on your Slack profile must match the address you verified in Pauzora. If they differ, the app’s Home tab says Not connected; ask your HR admin to check your Pauzora email address.
See your remaining allowance
- In Slack, open Pauzora under Apps (or search for it).
- Open the Home tab.
The tab shows each of your leave pools with what is left and what you have used, as of today. Below the pools, Waiting for you lists the requests that await your decision (see Decide requests waiting on you) — for most people it says Nothing is waiting for your decision. Under that, Your team lists who in your team is out today and who will be away in the next two weeks, as the team calendar in Pauzora shows them to you: a colleague’s absence you may not see the reason for shows as away, and (pending) marks a request not yet approved. Your team is the one you belong to in Pauzora — the same people the form offers under Who covers for you — not the people who report to you: a manager whose reports sit in other teams does not see them here, and widening that is a product decision, not a mistake. Somebody in no team sees no such section. It refreshes every time you open it. Open Pauzora takes you to the web app, and Help opens these help pages — in German if your language is German, in English otherwise.
Submit a request
- On the Home tab, choose Request leave.
- In the form, pick the Absence type and the First day and Last day.
- For a partial day, tick First day: afternoon only or Last day: morning only. On a single-day request you can tick one of the two, not both.
- Add a Comment if you like.
- If your organization asks for it, choose Who covers for you. Some absence types require this and some do not offer it; the form tells you if the choice does not fit the type. The list shows up to 100 colleagues — in a larger organization, use Pauzora for this step.
- Choose Submit.
The form shows Submitting your request… for a moment, then either Request submitted — your request is awaiting approval — or what needs fixing. Dates the wrong way round or a half-day choice that does not fit are pointed out on the field right away; anything else, such as an absence type that is no longer available, is shown at the top of the form with your entries kept, so you can correct and submit again.
To save the request without submitting it, tick Save as a draft — don’t submit yet before you choose Submit. You finish and submit a draft in Pauzora, under Requests.
Decide requests waiting on you
If you are somebody’s approver, the Home tab shows Waiting for you with the number of requests awaiting your decision — the same list as the Waiting for you card and the Approval queue in Pauzora.
- In Slack, open Pauzora under Apps, then the Home tab.
- Under Waiting for you, each request shows who asks, the absence type and the dates (and a half-day, if one was requested).
- Choose Approve or Decline on the request. The tab refreshes and the request leaves the list; the requester is notified exactly as for a decision made in Pauzora.
When more requests wait than the tab can show, the last line says how many more there are and links to the Approval queue in Pauzora.
What Slack does not do: a decision from Slack carries no comment, and the request’s balance, timeline and warnings live in Request details in Pauzora — see Review and decide requests. If a request can no longer be decided (it was decided already, or withdrawn), it simply no longer appears when the tab refreshes.
No picture of the Home tab is included yet; the tab is Slack’s screen and is photographed after the staging acceptance, not by the product’s own capture.
What happens next
The request goes to your approver exactly as it would from Pauzora, and you are notified when it is decided. You can follow it in Pauzora under Requests. Your approver can decide it from Slack too — see Review and decide requests.
